Non-epidemiologists find it so strange when disease-geeks talk about our “favorite diseases”… but face it, you have one! We all do, we just can’t help it. As in the rest of life, we are happiest if we embrace what makes us unique. So in these pages you will find interesting tidbits on different infectious diseases and related information. The course has been designed to NOT be a ‘parade of diseases,’ yet there are many interesting diseases out there you might want to know more about, and we can explore those here. Or you may want to share what you know! Please feel free to chime in if I hit on one of your favorites.
Some elements you will find in these pages are the following:
- “Disease of the week” features
- It all gets back to the triangle – interesting tidbits on the epidemiologic triangle and infectious disease transmission in action
- Happenings / Current events / news / Advances in public health practice
- Now this is interesting (weird news)
- Question of the week: The students answer!
